The DLC features a new story with a new character while being set in the same universe of the first game and having connections to "Outlast 2"'s storyline. It features a series of gameplay challenges and more environmental variety than the original "Outlast". The DLC also includes two new enemy types that behave differently from their counterparts from the original game. Since the DLC is set before Blake Langermann arrived at Mount Massive Asylum, he won't be featured in "Whistleblower".
